Inside linebacker prospect in either an odd or even front with the potential to compete at SAM in a 4-3. Dodson has good size and explosiveness but his stat-sheet production didn't always match actual on-field impact. He can diagnose and move quickly in the first phase, but struggles to adjust to blocks - either taking on or slipping - with consistency. He will need to improve his hands, tackling and zone awareness to become more than a traits-based special teamer with low-end backup potential.
Likely HWS (height/weight/speed) prospect with good length and untapped potential still to be mined. Alaka continued to improve throughout the year but his instincts and feel for the inside linebacker spot just isn't there yet. His lack of precision and efficiency in pursuit of ball-carriers contributes to an inconsistent radar as a tackler. At this juncture, Alaka is a developmental prospect with early special teams potential.
