Productive tackler with good athletic ability and pursuit speed who is missing the desired instincts and take-on technique expected of an inside linebacker. Al-Shaair looked rangier and quicker in his 2017 tape, but in both last year's tape and this year's, he struggled with take-on technique and constricting his run fits. His burst and change of direction create opportunities as a delayed rusher and blitzer, but he's too ineffective in coverage. The tape was borderline, but the knee injury might make free agency his best shot.
