The frame of a guard and the skill set of a guard probably means Smith will end up moving to guard. His hands need work, but with power as his calling card and the ability to hide some of his athletic deficiencies by moving him inside, he has a good shot of getting drafted and fighting for a backup spot.

If he can get back to his level of play from 2013, then he is a draftable player who has movement and power traits that give him a chance to earn playing time in the NFL. Dieffenbach's 2014 tape will scare many teams and his medicals will be closely scrutinized, but his recovery and potential might be worth a late-round pick.
