DRAFT TRACKER 2013

The son of a former NFL and USFL offensive tackle (and original member of the “American Gladiators” television show) has played since his freshman year, but has never been a tremendously impactful performer. He's got the height and length, works hard, and can turn the corner. However, he's an uncoordinated player who will often find himself off balance, or lunging. Doesn't project as a a great pass rusher or run defender, will likely need to contribute on special teams.

Klein is a tough-minded, instinctual, and productive linebacker (345 tackles in his three seasons as a starter). He plays inside and outside, showing the strength against the run and enough instincts in coverage to do potentially play all three downs at the next level as well as contributing heavily on special teams early in his career.

Goard’s lean frame, average overall speed, and occasional concentration issues might give NFL scouts some pause, but his potential as an upside project could have a team select him late.

While still raw to the game from an overall technique perspective, Fuller is a gifted athlete. He's very fast, has good flexibility, and is explosive out of his cuts, which makes him a weapon as a receiver. He'll need to improve his blocking and clean up his game at the next level, but his athletic ability will likely get him selected in the middle to late rounds of the draft.

Sales was suspended during the 2011 season after he was stopped for running a red light, leading police to find drugs, open intoxicants, and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. The drug charges against him were eventually dropped, helping him get back on the field for 2012. Sales hopes to remind scouts of the big-play ability he flashed in the 2010 Pinstripe Bowl (5 catches, 172 yards, three TD) with his play as a senior, and looks to become the next former Syracuse receiver with some off-field troubles (Tampa Bay’s 2010 fourth-round pick, Mike Williams) to perform well in the NFL.

Mixed in with a good number of short, speedy runners, Tucker brings the weight to the table. He was forced to wait until his senior year to claim the majority of starts, but Tucker earned his fair share of carries every season. A team looking for a bigger back in the later rounds could certainly turn their attention to Tucker.

As a freshman in 2009, Tucker rushed for 676 yards and eight touchdowns on 105 yards. He continued the backup duty in 2010, rushing for 709 yards and seven touchdowns on 148 carries. Tucker finally started earning some starts in 2011, leading the way in three games while playing in all 13 contests. Similar production took place, as he rushed for 702 yards and 12 touchdowns on 123 carries. Despite making the most starts of his career in 2012, leading the way in 10 of 12 games, Tucker's numbers did not reach the same level as in previous seasons, rushing for 515 yards and six touchdowns on 118 carries. Throughout his career, Tucker caught 29 passes for 262 yards and one touchdown.

This junior college transfer isn’t as highly-regarded as Terrence “Mount” Cody was a couple of years ago, nor his current teammate, Jesse Williams. But it’s not easy for NFL teams to find defensive linemen with his size and length to play the five-technique spot in the 3-4 scheme or three-technique in the 4-3. Dial's versatility will likely find him drafted late.

Lewis-Moore improved his production in his senior year, and looked to be a versatile piece that could potentially work in a rotation at 43 DT or 34 DE. However, Lewis-Moore already lacked great athletic ability, and that issue has been compounded by back to back seasons with knee injuries. A team will have to be willing to stash him away for a year as he rehabs a torn ACL he suffered in the BCS National Championship game.

The son of a former college football player, Furstenburg has shown himself to be a blocking and receiving option. His strong hands should and his willingness to block despite a lean frame for the position could have him sought after as an UDFA.

A high school All-American from California, Scott’s career in Tucson hasn’t gone exactly how he had imagined. He threw 176 passes in three years, lost his starting job to eventual 2012 third-round pick of the Eagles, Nick Foles, as a sophomore and decided to take a healthy redshirt in 2011 so he could be in charge after Foles used up his eligibility. His strong arm and excellent mobility fit perfectly the offensive system installed by new Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez however, and Scott will surely interest teams as a "dual threat" QB option to develop.

Hall has been a fixture in the Tigers’ secondary since his freshman year, when he intercepted six passes to earn honorable mention All-ACC honors. Though he couldn’t maintain that sort of turnover creation while starting as a sophomore and junior, his overall strength against the run (86 tackles in 2011) and pass (10 career INT) are worthy of a mid-round selection as a potential NFL starter.

The cousin of former NFL kicker Al Del Greco uses his feet to run tight routes instead of booting the ball through the uprights. His hands are what intrigue scouts the most, however, as Vernon managed to become the all-time ACC leader in receptions and receiving yards for a Duke squad not really for its offensive acumen. He likely profiles as a "big slot" in the NFL.

McFarland’s lack of production rates him as a disappointment among Sooners fans because high expectations followed him as a Parade All-American coming out of high school. McFarland has some toughness and lateral agility. Not overly explosive in closing and struggles when engaged, but he could potentially find himself drafted as a rotational piece by a 4-3 team.

Ferentz is a team leader with pletny starting experience under his belt, but his lack of size is a major detriment. However, is is mobile and plays with sound technique. While he's frequently overpowered, and will get caught lunging, he will likely be drafted late.

One of the top high school offensive tackles in the country, O’Neill decided to attend the most-heralded program in his home state, signing with the University of Michigan. New head coach Rich Rodriguez’s version of the spread system didn’t prove to be a good fit, however, so O’Neill transferred to WMU to join his brother, James. His talent has proven valuable to the Broncos’ passing spread attack, and his size, length and agility give him a chance to compete for playing time at right tackle as a mid-to-late round NFL draft pick.

Hester has a great frame and is more fluid than most would think. He's a good all-around athlete and works well in man coverage. He needs to do a better job of finding and making plays on the football, but he should still be selected in the middle rounds.

In his high school senior year, McCray was named county’s Athlete of the Year. He played quarterback and defensive back, and contributed over 1,600 yards of total offense, seven interceptions, seven pass breakups, 40 tackles and a forced fumble.

In his first year. McCray saw action in 13 games, mostly as a special teams player. In 2010, McCray appeared in 11 games, and missed two due to injury. He started at right cornerback, left cornerback, and free safety over the course of the season. He had 19 tackles, three pass breakups, and an interception. In 2011, after leading the Southern Conference and tying for eighth nationally with five interception, McCray earned fourth-team all-America recognition from Phil Steele Publications, and was named first-team all-Southern Conference by the league’s coaches and media. McCray also contributed 48 tackles and nine passes defended. In his final season, McCray tallied 55 tackles, four pass breakups, and four interceptions.

The first-team All-Sun Belt tight end is a big target, and fluid athlete. Doyle adjusts to passes like a much smaller player. However, he doesn't adequately use his size as a blocker. While he doesn't have great speed, he has enough to challenge the seams. When this is combined with his ability to find openings in zones, he will likely be a mid-round selection.

An older prospects who served a Mormon mission after high school, Sorensen played one year of junior college before walking on at BYU, then transferring to SUU when it looked like his playing time in Provo would be limited. The 2011 Great West Offensive Player of the Year has the NFL size and arm to earn himself a late-round grade as a he fights for a spot on a team.

McDougald went to Kansas to be a receiver in their wide-open spread, instead of attending his hometown Ohio State to play safety; by the end of his sophomore year, however, he was a starter in the secondary for Kansas. While still learning correct tackling angles and technique, his size and athletic ability give him promise at the next level.

A massive man even among one of the biggest lines in college football, Bond’s size alone gives him a chance to be a late round draft pick. He got too big after his first year as a starter in 2011 (372 pounds), but dropped to the 330-pound range for this senior year.

Family tradition led Hawkinson to Lawrence, as several of his immediate family members are Kansas alums (except his father, who went to rival KSU). He’s been a fixture on the Kansas line, as shown by 48 consecutive starts. He's showed off his athleticism while adding weight every season, but he'll need to prove he can play with better strength and balance in order to be selected late in the draft.

A junior college transfer helped Butler County to the 2010 national championship game and then excelled at the FCS level, Mady still has the physical tools to develop into a starter at the next level down the line. Teams relying primarily in zone-blocking schemes will value him as a mid-to-late round pick.

Lotulelei (no relation with Utah defensive tackle Star) needed some time to take advantage of his gifts at the junior college level, and didn’t earn a starting spot until later in his junior year. There are plenty of things to like about his attacking style, however, allowing him to project as a late-round inside linebacker prospect with good special teams potential.

The three-year starter has been a solid contributor for the Huskers from the weak side end position. He is not a dominant edge rusher, but expect him to at least grade out as the mid-round reserve swing DE every 4-3 team needs in their rotation – or even a starting five-technique after adding weight in an NFL strength-and-conditioning program.

Stoneburner is not an exceptional athlete, and hasn’t been targeted often in the Buckeyes’ lacking passing attack, but has a strong enough overall package of blocking and receiving skills to contribute at the next level. In a deep tight end class, Stoneburner should be a Day 3 pick.

As a team captain and Associated Press first-team high school senior, Alec Lemon rewrote Maryland high school football records. As a senior, he set Maryland state records for receiving yards (1,616) and tied state records for receptions (103) and touchdowns (23). In addition to his offensive contributions, on special teams, he returned three kickoffs for touchdowns, and as a safety, he had 30 tackles, intercepted six passes, and forced two fumbles. Lemon also earned letters in baseball and volunteered for the Arundel School Mentoring Program.

As a freshman, he played in 12 games and started six. He caught 29 passes and one touchdown. In 2010, he played 12 games and had 10 starts. Lemon caught 32 passes for 397 yards and four touchdowns. In his junior year, he earned second-team All-Big East. Lemon set the Syracuse single-season record with 68 receptions. His 834 receiving yards ranks ninth on the SU single-season record list and is the highest total for a junior in Syracuse history. As a senior, Lemon caught 73 passes for 1,074 yards and seven touchdowns. After breaking his own reception record from the year prior, Lemon was named first-team All-Big East.

Alabama A&M has produced it’s fair share of NFL talent over the years, and Bulldog alum Robert Mathis is still playing at a Pro Bowl level. However, Johnson-Webb has the distinct honor of being the first ever Alabama A&M player ever invited to the NFL Combine. Johnson-Webb wasn’t highly recruited out of high school, as he only played football in his senior season, but now he has the opportunity to join Mathis in the NFL.

Johnson-Webb took a redshirt in 2008. He followed that year up by starting all 12 games, rotating between left and right guard in 2009. The following year, he saw the field in 10 games as the starting left tackle as the team rushed for 1,883 yards, which was good for third best in the conference. In 12 starts in 2011, Johnson-Webb anchored an offensive line that gave up only 22 sacks on 399 passing attempts and 1,805 rushing yards. In 2012, Johnson started in all of his team’s games once again.

Madsen has been a four-year starter for an extremely product Mountaineer offense. He has a solid build for the position, works well laterally, and can get to the second level. However, since Madsen isn't the greatest athlete, he's going to need to get stronger in order to compete at the next level.

McCalebb is extremely fast, and does some impressive things when given space. He also follows his blockers quite well, which should help him as a kick returner. McCalebb also has the skills to make a mark as a receiver, but will need to prove capable of handling blocking assignments if he wants to stay on the field. His speed and return potential could get him drafted late.

At North Fort Meyers High School, Bohanon totaled over 1,500 yards and 18 touchdowns in his career. In his final three years at the school, he earned all-district, all-conference and all-area honors. Bohanon also lettered in baseball. He ultimately chose Wake Forest over Michigan State and Louisville.

In 2009, he became the first-ever true freshman fullback to play at Wake Forest under Jim Grobe. He was used primarily as a blocker, but had 16 carries for 51 yards and eight receptions for 66 yards. As a sophomore, he played in all 12 games with four starts at fullback. Bohanon logged 17 carries for 77 yards, and tied for fourth on the team with 11 receptions. In 2011, Bohanon played in all 13 games with six starts at fullback. He rushed 15 times for 31 yards and two touchdowns. He also added nine receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown. In 2012, Bohanon had two rushes for a yard and a touchdown. He also had 23 catches for 208 yards and five touchdowns.

Rivera originally signed with Oregon out of high school, but the Ducks’ depth at tight end caused him to transfer to a junior college for one year before arriving in Knoxville. After one season behind Luke Stocker, he began really using his hands and athleticism to help the Volunteers in 2011 and 2012. Rivera fits the current trend of teams searching for pass-catching tight ends able to take advantage of coverage mismatches, so he might earn late-round grades come April.

The junior college transfer chose FIU over more-recognized programs to make his mark, and the 2011 second-team All-Sun Belt pick has certainly accomplished that. Hauptmann isn’t as tall as most scouts prefer in an offensive tackle prospect, but the strength and agility he’s shown as a blind-side starter for the Panthers gives him a chance to make it at the next level.

The Eagles’ starting tight end has not accumulated tremendous production throughout his career. While this is definitely in part due to the offense he played in, he does not profile as a great receiver at the next level. However, he should be a solid pass catcher, who also possesses a strong blocking mentality.

Carder took over the Broncos’ spread attack from Tim Hiller in 2010 and never looked back. He lacks the size and pure arm strength to be an elite NFL quarterback prospect, but has enough of both, as well as the intangibles and intelligence to efficiently run a movement-style offense. If teams are willing to look past his senior season, and if Carder performs well enough in the postseason process, he could be a late-round pick.

As a high school All-American from California, it was natural for Kaveinga to play for USC. But after two seasons as a reserve linebacker and special teams contributor (five tackles, one for loss in 16 games), he transferred to BYU, earning a starting job in the middle. His average size and speed might keep him from being an elite prospect, but his production and toughness should allow him to make a roster as an inside hammer in a 3-4 system.

Square does not rack up huge numbers for the Tide’s stout defense but his versatility and consistency has earned him two consecutive seasons with 13 starts, and 32 starts over the past three years. He could potentially be a late-round selection.

Sampson has never been the go-to guy while at Baylor, but he has proven to be a dangerous player. He's explosive vertically, and tracks the deep ball very well. He's an intriguing fit for a vertical passing game, and should be selected in the later rounds.

Gray attended Ben Davis High School, where he was a three-year starter. He was a highly touted dual threat quarterback prospect, who participated in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. In that game, he completed 3 of 7 passes for 56 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 41 yards and a TD.

In his freshman year, Gray saw time at both quarterback and receiver. He threw a touchdown, and caught one as well. In his sophomore year, Gray participated in all12 games, and logged seven starts at wide receiver. He had 42 catches for 587 yards and five receiving touchdowns. His junior season saw him move back to quarterback, where he started 10 of the 11 games he played. He completed 108 of 213 passes (51%) for 1,495 yards, eight touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Gray also ran for an additional six touchdowns. In his senior year, Gray split his time. He completed 34 of 57 pass attempts for 472 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. Gray also caught 12 passes for 121 yards, and rushed for five touchdowns.

At Terry Parker High School, Barrington was a three-star prospect at linebacker, but he also played running back, where he logged 1,188 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns on 108 carries as a senior. While playing all of the linebacker sports, he racked up 109 tackles, five sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and six pass breakups. Barrington picked USF over Miami, Purdue and Illinois, among others.

As a true freshman, he appeared in all 13 games and started one. He tallied 41 tackles (two for loss) with one pass defended. In 2010, Barrington played in all 13 games, and logged 11 starts. He finished third on the team in tackles with 65 (6.5 for loss). He also added half of a sack, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and three passes broken up. Barrington’s junior year saw him start all 12 games. He had 72 tackles (6.5 for loss), 2.5 sacks, and one interception. In 2012, Barrington’s play earned him a second-team All-Big East nod. He had 80 tackles (6.5 for loss), 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and three pass breakups.

McGee has all the physical attributes to be a contributor as a 4-3 defensive tackle or 3-4 defensive end. However, between a lack of production throughout his career, multiple off the field incidents, and suspensions, he is unlikely to be drafted.

Brown is a physically imposing receiver who had great expectations as Tennessee’s Mr. Football winner as the state’s top high school player in 2008. Injuries throughout his career have really derailed his growth as a prospect. Brown’s size and surprising quickness will surely intrigue teams in the undrafted free agent process if he shows that he's fully recovered from his ACL tear.

The son of former NFL running back (and current Green Bay Packers scouting executive) Alonzo Highsmith didn’t have an easy path to SEC success. Lightly recruited coming out of high school and forced to junior college due to academics, he finally got his chance to shine as a junior, starting all 13 games and leading the Razorbacks with 12.5 tackles for loss (80 total stops, 4.5 sacks). Adding that sort of work ethic and production to his genetic make-up makes him a likely contributor on defense and special teams at the next level as a late-round pick.
