DRAFT TRACKER 2012

Blackmon is an early-out junior who enjoyed a storied and productive career at Oklahoma State. The two time Biletnikoff Award winner as the nation's top receiver filled the role of WR1 nicely after Dez Bryant left for the NFL. Blackmon has proven to be as athletic as Bryant and even more productive. He has elite ability to contribute early in the NFL and should be selected within the top 15 picks and start immediately.

Floyd has been a game changer at the collegiate level and possesses the size, aggressiveness and game experience to make a difference early in his transition to the NFL. Floyd has been an extremely productive threat both deep and in possession for the Irish throughout his career, as well as a physical blocker and a reliable third-down playmaker. His on-field maturity, physical nature and ability to make the big catch will outshine some off-field mishaps, as Floyd projects to be one of the top receivers off the board.

Wright had been a solid complimentary player in Baylor's high-octane offense who has turned into much more in his senior year. As Robert Griffin III's go-to option at receiver, Wright working himself wide open for a long touchdown seemed to be a common sight for Big 12 opponents this season. Wright is undersized but has the speed to take the top off of NFL defenses. His athletic ability is his greatest strength, and he uses strong, polished technique to make up for his size deficiencies on the field. He has the wiggle and subsequent burst to make a move on a defender and get up field. His ball skills are on par with his overall skills as a wideout, and he uses his footwork to run strong routes for the collegiate level. He is a smart, competitive player who runs each route to win, and usually does. He will have to improve his blocking and overall strength at the next level, but Wright has the potential to be a first day pick and make an instant impact.

Quick has very uncommon size for the position and surprises scouts with his ability to run. The fact that he is a former basketball player and high jumper shows in his play. Despite his short time playing football, he understands how to run routes and get open. He will set up defenders at his level and snap off routes effectively to make a play with his strong hands. He can make the big play in traffic and also use his big frame to be a large target and make the play on the ball to finish jump balls and deep passes. While he hasn't had much experience at a high level of football, he has displayed enough of the size and athletic ability to make plays that all translate well to the next level. Look for Quick to be the highest pick from Appalachian State in years and be taken early in the second round.

Sanu came in as a heralded recruit and was the first freshman to start a season opener at any position in the Greg Schiano era at Rutgers. Sanu missed only one start in his career and has continued to develop significantly each year. He has good size and is capable of making a lot of plays within a West Coast offense. He is a player who can separate well and excels in the short to intermediate passing game, an ideal receiver for a timing-based, pass-often offense. He is a polished all-around player.

Polished is one word that could be used to describe Broyles and the consistent production he has turned in at the collegiate level. Though undersized, Broyles understands route concepts and how to get open and secure the ball. His ball skills and route-running ability alone could allow him to start at the next level very quickly. His feel for space on the field and overall ability to understand defenses boost his productivity immensely, because even though he displays premier athletic ability, he certainly doesn't make many plays due to his size. He will have to work out of the slot at the next level, but has shown the ability throughout college to do so. Before tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against Texas A&M in November, Broyles was a second-round talent. If he is unable to test for teams before the draft due to that injury, his stock might drop.

Size is the name of Toon's game. The son of former New York Jets star Al Toon, Nick stands at 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, and plays to that size. Toon might not run past many NFL defensive backs, but his overall awareness at the position, understanding of how to play to his strengths, and effectiveness in the run game make him a solid prospect. He should be an NFL mainstay after being selected somewhere in the second round.

Randle is an early-entry junior out of LSU who has become a late riser in this year's class. He burst onto the scene in the past year-and-a -alf as the go-to option for LSU's quarterbacks and was limited by inconsistent quarterback play all year. He is an impressive athlete and stands to significantly increase his value if he can showcase it leading up to the draft.

Criner is a raw talent who has been inconsistent throughout his career at Arizona. He has been dominant in the Pac-12 at times and uses his athleticism and leaping ability to simply make more plays than the man across from him. Criner effectively uses his great size when going for jump balls or when "boxing out" to catch balls in the short game. He shows his athleticism after the catch, displaying an ability to make things happen early in the play and the burst to finish them. He needs to learn how to show up every Sunday, but his talent alone legitimizes him as a prospect. He should be one of the first five receivers taken off the board.

Adams has been an electrifying player in his senior year at Arkansas. Many will remember his punt return against Tennessee earlier in the year, and that would be a good representation of the type of explosiveness and talent Adams will bring to the next level. Though he does have the skills to excel at the wide receiver position, his ability to return kicks immediately will boost his value in many teams' minds. He has good vision in the open field and the explosiveness and agility to make people miss and turn upfield. The type of returner/receiver who looks to score each time he has the ball, Adams will look to contribute in many facets at the next level and should expect to be picked somewhere in the second round.

Jeffery enjoyed a highly productive sophomore and junior year at South Carolina where he was a first-team All-America selection and averaged over a touchdown a game. He is an explosive jumper with an impressive frame and has the ability to be an immediate red zone threat in the NFL. He is a long strider who is methodical in his route running but possesses just average speed. He relies on technicality and variations in his speed to keep receivers off balance.

Posey is a savvy route runner who has overcome various obstacles during his time at Ohio State. He is athletic and understands how to run routes and get open. He can be counted on to secure the catch when he is not draped by a defender. Though suspended on two separate occasions for his role in NCAA violations involving boosters, Posey showed in his short opportunity during his senior year why he has third-round value in this year's draft.

There are question marks surrounding every aspect of Maze's departure from Alabama and entry into the draft. But putting those questions aside, Maze has done one thing consistently -- make plays at big times for the Crimson Tide. Maze uses his agility and quickness to make people miss anywhere on the field, with the explosiveness to take the play the distance. He is far from an imposing presence, however, and lacks the build and definition that many quick, slot receivers usually possess. He doesn't run crisp routes and can be shaky catching the ball at times, but his overall skill set and return ability make him a third-round value.

Hill is an early-entry junior receiver out of Georgia Tech who started consistently for the past two years and was the sole deep threat in a run-first offense. He has great length and an outstanding catch radius, which along with his speed makes him a serious deep-threat option in the NFL. He has a thin frame and will be hurt by the fact that he ran a very basic route tree at Georgia Tech, and teams won't be able to utilize him for much more than go routes at this point in his career. He is a splash player who was No. 1 in the nation in yards per catch; he has fourth-round value based off his all-around body of work but could impress a team with his size and speed enough to ascend significantly throughout the pre-draft process. If the rest of his game can catch up to the ability he shows in the deep passing game, Hill could be the sleeper of this year's draft.

Cunningham has been a highly regarded prospect. He has size for the position is a very polished, well-rounded receiver. He has been durable and has started since arriving on campus, making him a third-round value and possibly ascending if he validates his speed during the postseason.

Benjamin has been a big-play threat for the Hurricanes over the years. Initially an electric return specialist only, he eventually became an effective pass-catching option. He is undersized but shows speed to get past safeties, and the route-running savvy to outwork corners and separate from them to make plays on the ball. He will be somewhat limited in his transition to the NFL due to his size, but there are many receivers of his stature that have shown the ability to overcome this at the next level. Benjamin has third- to fourth-round value due to his speed, ability to separate and experience as a returner.

Edwards has been a four-year starter and key part of the high-octane Houston offense. He is small but is fast and savvy enough to play right away as a slot receiver in the NFL. He understands defenses and how to sit down in holes vs. zone, making him a third-round talent who could also become a serviceable returner.

Streeter started only one year at Miami. Has a very impressive frame and the speed to match, an will be capable of making splash plays for his team as a rookie in the NFL. Late third-round value with the opportunity to ascend.

White is a big and powerful receiver who is an NFL-ready route runner and very polished. He plays with instincts and has good explosion for his size. He could work from the outside or from the slot as he knows how to get open from anywhere on the field. He is the type of prospect that could play immediately and will have little trouble adapting at the next level even though he played collegiately in a smaller conference.

A classic underweight, tall receiver who has decent agility but is more of a crafty pass catcher who makes plays happen once the ball is thrown to him. Dwight could stand to put on weight before entering the draft, but his speed at the collegiate level was borderline, albeit deceptive, and more weight could hinder his ability to occasionally get behind defenders. He has 3rd/4th round value as a receiver.

Martin is an explosive mover who is quick off the snap to work into his routes. He's been a two-year starter for Michigan State and has been productive running with the ball after short catches. He can take a bubble screen the distance and uses his pure athletic ability to outmaneuver defenders. He is athletic enough to be the superior guy on an NFL field matching up against most DBs. He is a very good speed-variance route runner who can keep corners on their heels and toes. He has fourth-round value and is such a late riser with a solid, productive Big 10 championship game that he could continue to rise into the late third round.

Graham is undersized (weight) at receiver but has started sparingly throughout his career for North Carolina St. He is extremely fast and that is where his value lies. He is still a developing route runner and can get knocked for being a "track guy" and not reliable across the middle. Nevertheless, his 40 time will be important throughout pro days and the combine, and he could be selected as high as the third round.

Wright has been a consistent starter for Arkansas since his freshman year. He is undersized but has legitimate 4.4 speed that he uses well in all aspects of his game. He wasn't used much as a returner, but he is an option for NFL teams there based off his ball handling, quickness and long speed. He has fourth-round value working out of the slot at the next level.

Boykin is an athletic receiver with a ton of size. He is a slow mover who is not taking the top off any NFL defenses, but his long strides make him look fluid in the open field running intermediate routes. He has good hands and a large catch radius to go up and get the ball. Teams needing a red-zone threat and a receiver who can snag the ball on timing routes will consider him a fifth-round talent.

Hilton was a three-plus year starter at an emerging Florida International program. He has had a ton of production there despite his size, and is an athletic mover who has the speed to take the top off a defense. He is good off the line and has fourth-round value as a receiver and return specialist at the next level.

Kearse is an athletic and extremely productive receiver from Washington who has caught a lot of balls for them over the years. He is a thick, athletic receiver and a polished route runner to find his way open. He displays his athletic ability when going after the ball and can reel in most thrown his way. He could play right away as a third/fourth receiver, and has fifth-round talent for that reason.

Owusu has been a reliable receiver and return threat for Stanford throughout his career, who faced an unfortunate set of injuries in his senior season that could severely hurt his draft status going into 2012. With the current attention being given to concussions and the "return-to-play" protocols, teams will have a tough time justifying Owusu as he recovers from a concussion-laden senior season. Despite these red flags, Owusu is a mature player on the field who would be a reliable return option when healthy.

Matthews has been a reliable receiver for Nevada the past two years after graduating from Bakersfield College. He is a player who uses his size and savvy to be productive. He has added value as a returner, although he has been rather "non-explosive" in that role. The main concern is that his athletic ability does not bode well for an easy transition to the NFL.

Jenkins was a two-year starter at Illinois (while also starting four games over his first two years) for the now-departed Ron Zook and has the speed to take the top off of defenses in the NFL. He separates well when running with defenders and is good in securing the catch. He has shown a good amount of production and has fifth-round value at the next level if he can continue to get open the way he did in the Big Ten.

Wylie is an undersized receiver from Fresno State who was actually never a full-time starter during his time there. He has battled injuries throughout his career, and this has greatly effected his ability to be productive but has also kept him a hidden gem-type prospect who has fourth-round value based off his ability to contribute as a starter immediately in the return game. He is a burner whose 40 time will greatly help and support his grade despite limited playing time at a WAC school.

Jones has been a productive starter as a possession-type receiver for the Cal Bears the past three years. He does not possess great speed but seems to have a good understanding of his body and how to play to his strengths and get open. Jones has played with a quarterback the last year who is always looking to scramble and throw on the run, and Jones has been a good option for him working to get open downfield. He can make tough catches with a foot in bounds to get a first down when working up field and is a good outlet given his catch radius and hand strength when catching the ball.

Fuller has started games in each of his four years at Texas A&M and was a go-to option for future NFL quarterback Ryan Tannehill in the past two seasons. Fuller is a tall, well-built receiver who makes good plays across the field despite being a slow-mover and rarely being able to get away from defenders. He doesn't show much ability to run after the catch or block in the run game, and he can struggle when trying to get off the line. He also had an injury-filled senior year in which he was dealt with a nagging hamstring. Fuller has some serious hitches in his game, but he is a reliable option once he is in-route and the ball is coming his way.

Hemingway is a big and explosive senior who has started regularly for three years, catching balls from Denard Robinson at Michigan. Hemingway is a big-framed guy who is an athlete and will do everything in his control to go up and make plays on the ball. He is thick and an effective run blocker; reliable in all facets of his game.

Coale has been a starter for four consecutive years at receiver for the Hokies. He has thickness and balance for the position which serves him well when working out of the slot. He is a savvy player who has explosion in short areas to get open in zones, and gets production by making one player miss and getting upfield. He has the skill set to succeed at the next level and stands to be a fifth-round pick to a team looking for receiver depth and the type of mature player who can step in and play right away.

Page is an early-entry junior out of Toledo who is an intriguing prospect given that he flew under the radar throughout his career. He is a very polished receiver on film who won't make any NFL teams purely off athletic ability, but it's obvious in his play that he understands the game and what it takes to succeed at the position. At a meager 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, Page doesn't possess elite speed or quickness, but he draws value from his savvy working in the slot to be a dependable option for the quarterback. He would fill in nicely in a West Coast offense and could pressure for playing time in sub packages. He has value as a returner as well and could be selected in the fifth or sixth round.

Clemons has been a reliable starter for the Buffaloes after transferring from Michigan. He is a huge and athletic receiver in the mold of Anquan Boldin. He has the same body type and strong base and is good to go across the middle and use his core strength to break arm tackles and get upfield. Clemons has some value as a returner but would be merely serviceable there at the next level. Clemons has sixth-round value based on his potential to become a solid NFL pass catcher.

Robinson is big receiver who became Arizona State's go-to option during his senior year after being in and out of the lineup for three years. He is an average athlete who doesn’t display much mobility. He is effective catching the ball in short spaces and uses his frame well to get short catch production. He doesn't have the speed to be a deep threat. Robinson is a guy who has been productive in a conference full of good receivers, and has value as a late-round selection to see if his size can be utilized at the next level.

Lewis has good size for the position and is a thick, well-balanced athlete who is tough to bring down once he has the ball in his hands. He has a lengthy transfer history, but he collected himself at East Carolina, where he has started the past two years (though he missed three games with foot and knee injuries in 2011). He is a good underneath receiver who understands defensive zone schemes. He has sixth-round value.

Payne is an intriguing receiver prospect out of UNLV. He is tall, at over 6-foot-3, and more of a possession type than he is one to stretch the field deep. He has been productive for UNLV and has shown a skill set that could be utilized in certain situations at the next level. He excels at making a play on the ball once it's in the air, but he has a tough time getting himself open. He has late-round value based off his production and ability to be inserted into certain schemes where he could be effective at the next level.

Hanks often played second fiddle to late-round prospect Marquis Maze throughout his time at Alabama, but there were many characteristics displayed by Hanks that could make him the better all-around pro. First off, he has the size. He has the hands to compete and start at the next level, and he runs good routes to get himself open and create plays for himself. He is a smooth mover who looks like a natural receiver. He came into his own as a redshirt sophomore, where he started half of the games and went on to start 95 percent of the rest of his career. He suffered a shoulder injury as a freshman and had some durability concerns throughout his career, but the natural feel of his game and his experience playing at a high level make him a late-round value to a team hoping he can learn to play special teams as well.

Moye was a three-year starter at Penn State where he used his incredible size to gain mismatches against smaller defenders and make plays in the deep game and red zone exposures. He has decent speed but is a build-up strider who could really be effective downfield at the next level. He struggles against man press coverage and could stand to put some weight on a rather thin frame.

Childs' career at Arkansas lacked consistency but showed enough that he should be considered worthy of a late-round pick to a team who can hope to tap into and develop the talent and ability he showed early on his career. Fortunately for Childs, he showed up as an effective playmaker in the last game of his career, the BCS National Championship Game, which could show teams he is capable of being the player he was early on at Arkansas. The single most influential play of Childs' college career was when he suffering a torn patella tendon injury during the 2010 season, which left him obviously uncomfortable when running routes throughout 2011. If Childs can convince teams he is the playmaker they saw in the final game of his career, he could continue to rise.

Cooper was on the receiving end of many Brandon Weeden passes over the years in the explosive Cowboys' offense, and there are certain aspects of his game that project well to the NFL. Cooper could be an effective and heady slot player at the next level who will need to show the temperament to contribute on special teams. Look for a team with a need at the position to select Cooper in the late rounds.

Jackson was a two-year starter at receiver who has the speed to contribute early at the next level, likely working out of the slot. He runs good routes and is a polished all-around receiver. He didn't play out of the slot often at Mizzou, as he was often working from the outside where mismatches were created thanks to the emphasis on covering the highly regarded tight end in the offense, Michael Egnew. Jackson has value to a team looking for a solid NFL-ready backup who will likely be willing to contribute on special teams.

Moore is a fast, undersized receiver out of Connecticut who teams will want to take a late shot on in the draft simply to see if he can channel his inner-Johnny Knox and become more than a combine-speed guy. Moore has good quickness off the line of scrimmage and is good to secure the ball when running deep. Although he has great speed, he uses it more effectively running quick, intermediate routes than he does running deep to extend the field. He has late-round value due to his speed if teams can look past his size.

Brazill is a deep threat who shows athletic ability when going up for the ball. Has started since his freshman year. Has sixth-round value based off his reliable hands and serviceability as a kick returner.

McNutt was a starter for the better part of the last three years at Iowa and a physical presence on the outside. He is a strong player who catches the ball well and can run through arm tackles once he gets the ball. McNutt has the size to excel at the next level and also has displayed the explosion and speed to project him to be a factor. He plays a bit hesitant at times when blocking in run support and running through traffic.

Tuinei is an intriguing prospect who played an important, yet unconventional role throughout his career in the Oregon offense. He is somewhat reminiscent of another Northwest product, T.J. Houshmanzadeh, who like Tuinei was tall, athletic and able to separate from defenders just enough to get big hands on the ball and make plays to move the chains. Like Housh, Lavasier is deceptively fast. In a spread option offense at Oregon that relied on zone blocking schemes and offbeat huddles to keep the defense on its toes, Tuinei was a throwback of sorts. He was relied upon to move the chains in five to 10 yard increments when needed, mostly on third downs. Tuinei is a good athlete with a professional pedigree who has played in a lot of big games and could be selected in the late rounds if he runs fast throughout the pre-draft process.

Carswell was largely an afterthought throughout his career at USC. He is a big, athletic receiver who has a background playing quarterback throughout high school, and this field savvy is evident in his playing style. He relies on field awareness and his quick-twitched athleticism to make plays, although the ball didn't come his way often in a USC offense catered to younger receivers. Carswell could be a late-round selection to a team hoping he is a better player than the stats showed throughout his career.
