Yeremiah Bell expected to sign with Eagles or Jets

The Eagles and Jets are both rather thin at safety. One of them will look a little deeper by the end of Friday.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that free agent Yeremiah Bellwill sign with either Philadelphia or the Jets by the end of business. Then again, Bell's agent Drew Rosenhaus said on Thursday that Bell would sign with a "mystery team" yesterday and it didn't happen quite yet.

Bell, 34, had a great run with the Dolphins. But he's at the end of his career and makes more sense coming off the bench. Eagles coach Andy Reid said that Kurt Coleman and Nate Allen were slated to start at safety for Philadelphia. That was seen as a message sent to second year player Jaiquan Jarrett.

Signing Bell would be an even stronger message.
