Vikings owner backs Frazier despite 2-10 start to season

When Leslie Frazier took over as the Minnesota Vikings' coach toward the end of last season, he piloted a 3-3 finish to salvage what had been a disappointing campaign.

That finish prompted the Vikings to remove the interim label from Frazier's title and give him the keys to the franchise. But less than a year later, a 2-10 record has given some in the media cause to wonder if Frazier has what it takes to succeed as an NFL coach.

Vikings owner Zygi Wilf isn't of that mind, however, and told the Star Tribune after Sunday's 35-32 home loss to the Denver Broncos that Frazier will stay as coach.

"Leslie will definitely be back next year," Wilf said.

Wilf added that he doesn't foresee any changes to the Vikings' coaching staff, unless Frazier wants to part ways with some of his assistants.

Wilf also indicated to the newspaper that he doesn't plan to overhaul the Vikings' front office, headed by Rick Spielman and Rob Brzezinski, despite clamors from the local media that the organization to name a full-time general manager as a single voice for the franchise.
