Tom Brady: 'I got a long way to go'

This just in: Tom Brady remains human.

Coming out of Wednesday's mandatory minicamp, the New England Patriots' All-Pro quarterback says he's still working out the kinks in his game here in June. Whether or not you believe him, Brady says he's not even close to prepared for the team's season opener against the Tennessee Titans.

"I got a long way to go, I got a long way to go," Brady told The Boston Globe. "I'm nowhere near where I want to be, or I need to be."

Classic Brady. In an offseason littered with New Orleans Saints drama and continued attention around the New York Jets and their two-headed monster at quarterback, this passer has remained relatively silent. That should scare people.

It's hard to forget what Brady did in last year's opener against a stunned Miami Dolphins defense, throwing for 517 yards and four touchdowns -- lockout be damned. His assault appeared effortless, but the truth is nothing in New England comes without work. You're never going to hear the quarterback tell you, in late spring, he's where he needs to be -- but Brady can't be far away.
