You'd think Underwood would harbor some bitterness toward the coach, but you'd be wrong. Now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Underwood accepted it as a learning lesson.
"They brought up Alex from the practice squad and I got released, but it's part of the business," Underwood said, via CSNNE.com. "I understand that. Now I'm trying to put myself in a better position so that when those decisions are made I'm not one of the guys that can be released."
He didn't find the move cold on any level?
"Not at all. The thing I love about coach Belichick, he does what's best for the team every week for that game," he said.
Underwood has the right attitude for this type of situation. If he railed against Belichick, he'd burn more than just the bridge to New England.
