Terrell Owens was an easy target for ridicule after an Indoor Football League team cut ties with the former NFL star this week, but it was just a matter of time before we heard the other side of the story.

Owens, quite predictably, is lawyering up and considering taking legal action against the Allen Wranglers over breach of contract, according to TMZ.com.
The Wranglers severed ties with Owens on Tuesday for missing a team appearance and opting to sit out two crucial road games. Incredibly, the team gave him a piddling $50 buyout for the 50 percent ownership stake Owens had in the team.
Owens' original contract stipulated that he didn't have to play in road games unless certain financial conditions were met. He blamed his missed appearance at a children's hospital on a Wranglers publicist.
"Mr. Owens' legal team is addressing the details of the Wranglers release statement," an Owens representative told TMZ. "(Owens) played all games according to his contractual agreement and was proud to be part of the IFL and the Allen Wranglers."
Meanwhile, the indignities for Owens never seem to end. Citing sources close to the player, TMZ reported Thursday that the Wranglers notified Owens, in writing, that he had 48 hours to leave the house in which they set him up. He also was asked to hand over the keys to the 2012 Jeep Cherokee the team provided him for transportation.
So yes, it's fair to say this particular business decision didn't work out for the wayward wide receiver.
