Snow flurries in the forecast for Monday Night Football

If you've ever shaken and stared into a snow globe, wondering what it truly felt like to be the Santa Claus figurine inside as fake snow swirled around him, Monday night's game might provide a bit of insight.

With winter fast approaching, fans at tonight's Green Bay Packers vs. Atlanta Falcons game will get a taste of the season thanks to the region's frigid climate at this time of year. The forecast for the evening in Green Bay includes a temperature of 27 degrees (18-degree wind chill) and snow flurries, meaning it's going to be cold, windy and snowy.

As John Facenda once boomed over the footage of wintry Green Bay, "the frozen tundra" of Lambeau Field isn't a novel concept to either of these teams. While the Falcons play in the climate-controlled Georgia Dome, they experienced similar temperatures in last season's meeting, a 22-21 victory for the Packers.

As NFL Media's Randy Moss said on NFL Total Access before the game, the weather is awesome -- if you're a fan of traditional winter football. Native Midwesterners will tell you this temperature is practically balmy to them, meaning one should expect a raucous crowd as Green Bay continues its pursuit of an NFC North crown and first-round bye.
