It's hard to defend any aspect of Mark Sanchez's 2012 season, but not having a running back who could act as a safety valve in the passing game did the quarterback no favors. Though he would likely be a longshot given the Jets' salary cap issues, Reggie Bush is exactly the type of player the Jets need.
If Bush proves too costly, new general manager John Idzik would be wise to target a player with Bush-like traits during the draft process. The Jets need new blood. Finding a playmaker in the backfield could have a positive trickle-down effect on the entire offense.
