Seattle Seahawks: We're not pursuing Seattle Super Bowl bid

The Seattle Seahawks stated Tuesday they are not in the process of making a bid to host a future Super Bowl, despite a radio station reporting that the team has taken the first steps to do so.

"We are not presently pursuing a Super Bowl bid for the City of Seattle," the Seahawkswrote on their official Twitter account.

KIRO-AM in Seattle reported that the Seahawks and the Seattle Sports Commission completed an application to host the Super Bowl. The report also stated that the two parties were awaiting review by the Super Bowl Advisory Committee to learn whether the city would be invited to make a bid.

The Super Bowl sites for 2013 (New Orleans), 2014 (East Rutherford, N.J.) and 2015 (Glendale, Ariz.) already have been determined. KIRO-AM's report stated that Seahawks officials believed Super Bowl LII in 2018 would be their first legitimate shot at hosting such an event.
