Romeo Crennel agrees to be Houston Texans DC

Bill O'Brien has found the man to run his defense.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Romeo Crennel has agreed to a three-year deal to become the Houston Texans' defensive coordinator, per a source informed of the agreement.

Crennel replaces former coordinator and interim coach Wade Phillips.

On Jan. 11, Rapoport reported that Crennel wanted to wait until after the East-West Shrine Game to make his final decision. Crennel coached the West team in a 23-13 loss Saturday.

Crennel has had head coaching stints with the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs.
