Roddy White expresses remorse for anti-gay tweets

It's been a rough stretch for NFL players on Twitter. That, of course, is nothing new.

Roddy White is the latest to step into hot water, with comments he made earlier this week.

A fan asked the Falcons wideout if he'd rather lead the NFL statistically or win a Super Bowl, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

White responded: "Would u rather be gay or straight come on u know that answer?"

Within seconds, White was under fire from followers, leading him to write the following: "Freedom of speech. I don't care how much money I make. I should be held to my own standards and not the standards of other oopinion.#period."

Followed by this: "... every time somebody says the word gay u want to get your panties in a bunch relax #whyusoemotional."
