Report: Jets will not appear on HBO's 'Hard Knocks'

Update on the "Hard Knocks" front:

We learned yesterday the New York Jets were on HBO's wish list to star in the popular series, but that isn't going to happen, according to the New York Daily News.

Sources told the newspaper the Jets are out of the picture.

"We still have time to decide," an HBO spokesman said. "And we, and our NFL Films partners, haven't made any decisions yet."

When it comes to this year's version of the Jets, HBO's services won't be required for wall-to-wall coverage.

Face it: We're in for it on the Gang Green front. During Thursday's brief open locker room, we were treated to a circus of storylines ranging from Darrelle Revis ripping on Bill Belichick to Tim Tebow telling the world he renamed his dog from "Bronco" to "Bronx."

The Jets have spirit, but there might be another team worth learning about in the National Football League.
