Report: Jets looking to move up for Chandler Jones

Another day, another rumor about who the New York Jets want to trade up for. This rumor is more realistic than the Trent Richardson talk from Wednesday.

Rich Cimini of ESPNewYork.com reports that the Jets are showing "strong interest" in Syracuse pass rusher Chandler Jones. They are looking to move up to take him.

Jones has become a hot name in recent days. NFL Network's Mike Mayock said Jones would turn out to be the best defensive player in this draft. When we heard the New England Patriots may be interested in moving up in the draft, the first name we thought of was Jones.

The Jets quietly have a weak pass rush. Rex Ryan schemes as well or better than any coach in the league, but Gang Green simply doesn't have any defenders that win one-on-on matchups. GM Mike Tannenbaum has not been afraid to trade up in the past, doing so to acquire David Harris, Darrelle Revis, and Mark Sanchez.
