Bob Grotz of The Delaware County Daily Times reported Wednesday night that the Eaglesmade an offer almost two months ago for Miami Dolphins pass rusher Dion Jordan. According to a league source, Philly attempted to package a second-round draft pick and linebacker/defensive end Brandon Graham in exchange for last year's No. 3 overall selection.
Jordan would make for a tantalizing fit in Philly's 3-4 scheme, but 'Fins coach Joe Philbin told reporters at the NFL Annual Meeting that Miami still had big plans for the 2013 first-rounder.
"We feel like with a full offseason, with more time devoted to his fundamentals, he will have a better grasp of the position that he's playing," Philbin said, per ESPN.com. "We do want to do a better job with the numbers and rotating in."
