Report: Broncos to cut McBean on Monday

Ryan McBean is already facing a six-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancement policy. Now he has to worry about finding himself a job.

McBean has been notified by the Denver Broncos that he will be released Monday, according to The Denver Post.

McBean was a consistent presence on Denver's defense, leading all defensive tackles in playing 58 percent of the unit's snaps last season. He became expendable when Denver brought back veteran Justin Bannan for a second stint with the team.

McBean had received an restricted free agent tender from the Broncos, but the team rescinded it before he signed. He becomes an unrestricted free agent.

It's unknown if McBean's suspension factored into the Broncos' decision to cut ties, but it likely didn't help his cause. McBean and Broncos teammate D.J. Williams (also suspended six games for PED use) have sued the league to overturn the decision.

Both men contend their urine samples were mishandled -- perhaps more popularly known as The Ryan Braun Defense.
