If Adrian Peterson is a go for the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, the team plans to give the running back between 10 and 15 carries, a team source told CBSSports.com on Saturday.

Peterson is officially listed as questionable for the Vikings' season opener at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars and will be a game-time decision.

If Peterson does play, it would be a speedy comeback after the All-Pro suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament last December.

If Peterson doesn't start, Toby Gerhart will in his place.

If there are any clues to whether or not Peterson will start, NFL.com and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the team will announce it's offense over the Mall of America Field's P.A. system, suggesting perhaps a thunderous welcome back for Peterson.
