Randall Cobb activated by Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers activated wide receiver Randall Cobb from the injured reserve-designated for return list, the team announced Saturday.

The dynamic receiver practiced with the first team this week, and he has been running for just three weeks after breaking his leg on a gruesome hit against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6.

The Packers will list Cobb as "questionable" for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. There is a chance he doesn't play, but it would be an odd move for the Packers to activate the receiver if he wasn't ready to see the field.

Earlier this season the elusive pass-catcher said he wasn't sure if he would be able to return this season. Coach Mike McCarthy said this week that Cobb was "coming on strong" in his recovery.

In five games this season, Cobb caught 29 passes for 378 yards (13.0 average) with two touchdowns.

Aaron Rodgers' return was announced earlier this week. If Cobb plays, it will mark just the third game the Packers will have Rodgers, Cobb and rookie running back Eddie Lacy on the field together.

The Packers are likely to keep Cobb on a snap count, so expectations for his production against the Bears on Sunday afternoon should be tempered.

With Rodgers and Cobb returning, if Green Bay wins the NFC North, their chances of advancing in the playoffs have improved exponentially.

The latest "Around The League Podcast" delivered a Christmas gift, analyzing the chaotic playoff picture in both conferences.
