Brady Quinn has left town, but it might take him a few minutes to recover from the swaying drama attached to Denver's quarterback position.
Can you blame the guy?
Lost amid the fanfare of Peyton Manning's golden chariot streaming into Dove Valley, and Tim Tebow's presumed exit stage left, Quinn has found a new home in Kansas City. It's a location he picked -- despite the presence of starter Matt Cassel -- because it offered a comfort level too often missing during his notably rocky five seasons in the NFL.
Nobody's crying for any of these NFL quarterbacks, but after a season spent mediating Denver's awkward Kyle Orton-to-Tebow transition, Quinn talked about the trust and comfort of returning to Romeo Crennel, the coach who picked him in Cleveland in the first round of the 2007 draft.
"You can't make every decision in life based on money," Quinn told The Kansas City Star. "For me, personally, I had to make the best decision I felt like for me. And Kansas City was the right choice. ...
"One of the biggest things for me was my comfort level with Coach Crennel, having been drafted by him, as well as (offensive coordinator) Brian Daboll. I know his system, I've worked with him before. I really enjoyed my experience, and I'm looking forward to getting back to playing under Romeo."
Whether playing means starting is a different question, but for Quinn -- barring Tebow landing in Kansas City (and Quinn simply exploding on the spot) -- the chance to compete for a job minus billboard campaigns and general public mania might be enough.
