Paul Richardson signs contract with Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks signed their top draft pick on Tuesday.

Wide receiver Paul Richardson and the 'Hawks reached a contract, the team announced.

The Seahawksselected the Colorado product with the No. 45 overall pick after trading out of their first-round choice, No. 32 overall.

Richardson, a speedster, could push for playing time right out of the gate. The defending Super Bowl champions lost Golden Tate to the Lions in free agency, and now feature Doug Baldwin and Sidney Rice as the top complements to Percy Harvin. Of course, Harvin is far from a guarantee to suit up in all 16 games.

In Around The League's ongoing "Projected Starters" series, Gregg Rosenthal predicted that Richardson ultimately will supplant Baldwin as the team's No. 2 pass-catcher.

The latest "Around The League Podcast" breaks down the latest news and shares takeaways from rookie camps.
