Patrick Peterson: Julio Jones, Roddy White 'best' duo

Atlanta's Julio Jones claimed last month that he and Roddy White form the top receiving tandem in the NFL. Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson doesn't disagree.

"The best duo in the NFL, I'd probably have to say that's pretty accurate," Peterson said Monday, per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Both of those guys are Pro Bowl caliber receivers, both of them are All-Pro caliber receivers. Both of them do a lot of good things for Matt Ryan to make his job a little easier. But to say they are the best tandem, I'd probably have to say that he's probably right."

It means more coming from an All-Pro cover man, but we still have Chicago's Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jefferylocked in as the NFL's top pairing.

A healthy Jones and White deserve to be in the conversation on the heels of a season that saw both ravaged by injury. With Jones lost to October foot surgery, Matt Ryan and the Falcons went 3-8 in his absence. He's the heart and soul of that attack.

The Detroit Lions' pairing of Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate will be fun to watch, too, with Peterson going out of his way to talk up the powers of Megatron.

"He's just so big, fast, agile and he's very quick," Peterson said. "To be that big and move that well is unbelievable."

September also brings our first peek at Pierre Garcon teaming with DeSean Jackson in Washington, while a rejuvenated Randall Cobb in Green Bay and Reggie Wayne in Indy should help their quarterbacks to monster seasons.

Bottom line: If you're into the high-octane passing game, you live in a beautiful time.
