Oakland Raiders let Atlanta Falcons kick game-winner

Matt Bryant would like to thank Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen for the practice kick.

The Atlanta Falcons' kicker lined up for a potential game-winning 55-yard field-goal attempt with six seconds left. He missed the kick, but he was bailed out by Allen, who took a timeout just before the play.

What happened next was easy to predict: Bryant nailed his second game-winning field goal in the last three weeks. At some point, perhaps coaches will realize this whole "freezing the kicker" thing doesn't work.

Allen's approach will overshadow a great effort by his defense. The Falcons have won three consecutive games by one score against sub-par competition: the Carolina Panthers, Washington Redskins and now the Raiders, who fell to 1-4.

Matt Ryan was picked off three times, but the Falcons found a way to stay undefeated at 6-0 despite a sloppy performance.

It's turning into that kind of season in Atlanta.
