Norv Turner frustrated by San Diego Chargers' loss

The pressure has been mounting on San Diego Chargers coach Norv Turner for years. On Sunday afternoon in Tampa, Turner might have snapped.

Turner was asked if the Chargers' 34-24 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was unacceptable.

"What do you think?" said Turner, according to Marty Caswell of XX 1090 San Diego. "You answer that question."

(Caswell actually typed Turner's quote as "WHAT DO YOU THINK?" but we're not comfortable going all caps just yet.)

Turner's Chargers lost to the Buccaneers after two ill-advised late interceptions thrown by quarterback Philip Rivers. Now 4-5, the Chargers have to win on the road against the Denver Broncos next week for any realistic chance to remain in the AFC West playoff mix.

One Chargers.com writer said Turner was angrier than he's ever seen during the press conference. It's been that kind of season.

"You try not to be affected, and I sure don't want anyone in this room to think I'm affected," Turner said about his job status a few weeks ago to the U-T San Diego.

On Sunday afternoon, Turner couldn't help it.
