New York Giants guard Eric Herman suspended for four games

New York Giants guard Eric Herman has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2014 regular season for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances, the team announced.

Herman will be eligible to return to the Giants' active roster on Friday, Sept. 26 following the team's Sept. 25 game against the Washington Redskins.

Herman was a seventh-round draft pick of the Giants in 2013. He has not appeared in an NFL game.
