The new Philadelphia Eagles coach said it was more like a "seating chart" after Tuesday's voluntary workout that saw Michael Vick, Nick Foles and Dennis Dixon split reps with the first team.

It's early in the game, but it's clear Vick will have nothing handed to him this summer. Vick spoke with the media Wednesday, calling the new Eagles' offense "very refreshing" while making it clear he doesn't intend on holding a clipboard in 2013.

"This is still my team," Vick said according to Geoff Mosher of Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia. "This is still my job."

Vick cited his appreciation for Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie for wanting him to remain with the Eagles. He also called Kelly's arrival "a determining factor."

"Watching Oregon and what they did the last couple of years, I wanted to give it another shot," Vick said, according to Zach Berman of The Philadelphia Inquirer. "Sometimes money is not the determining factor in everything. ... I think the smartest thing to do was rethink it."

Berman said Vick looked "noticeably bigger" than last season and was wearing a heart monitor during practice. The quarterback wouldn't say why. Vick said he made progress Wednesday running the read-option.

Vick has been put in position to prove that he's still an impact player in this league. That type of motivation worked well for the Eagles in 2010. Approaching his 33rd birthday, we're going to find out if Vick can quiet doubters again.
