Instant Debate: Best of Week 3?
Shaun Hill took reps with the first team as Stafford nursed what was originally listed as a hamstring injury and is now a hip that knocked him out of a Week 3 overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans. Stafford, however, was seen walking without any noticeable discomfort and the injury doesn't appear serious. The fourth-year passer played through a broken finger and nasty ankle sprain in 2011.
It's too early to know if Stafford will face Minnesota, but the Lions sorely needs him on the field against a Vikings team that knocked off the San Francisco 49ers last week and currently sits atop the division at 2-1. Stafford's on-field struggles have mirrored Detroit's 1-2 start, but let's remember this a passer who threw for 5,000 yards last season.
Also missing practice were tight end Tony Scheffler (calf), safety Louis Delmas (knee), defensive tackle Corey Williams (knee) and receiver Titus Young (knee), according to the newspaper. Young has battled knee soreness since the summer. He's coming off a career-best six-catch, 75-yard day against the Titans and we expect him to be ready for the Vikings.
"I am getting better," Stafford said. "I feel better today than I did on Sunday. Just taking it day by day, trying to get better."
