LeGarrette Blount changes tune on Trent Richardson

LeGarrette Blount subtly hinted earlier this month that he wouldn't be happy if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted Alabama running back Trent Richardson with the fifth overall pick.

Check that. Blount wasn't subtle at all. Let's revisit, shall we?

"I would not like that pick, Blount said. "I would definitely not be happy with that pick."

Now Blount wants everyone to know he doesn't feel that way at all.

"Like I said, it was just a comment," Blount said Wednesday, according to the Tampa Bay Times. "There's nothing for anybody to read too deep into. You know, there's not nothing I would want to explain. It was just a comment, and I left it at that.

"Of course. I'd welcome him as a teammate. I've met the guy before," Blount added. "He's not a bad kid, but at the same time, like I said, I'd welcome anything that helps the team get better. I'd welcome anybody as a teammate, it doesn't matter who it is."

Bucs coach Greg Schiano is said to be high on Richardson, a dynamic runner with none of the ball-security issues that have plagued Blount during his two seasons in Tampa.

"LeGarrette has practiced really well two days in a row. LeGarrette is trying to do everything we ask," Schiano said. "That's all I can tell him is, 'I love the way you're practicing, let's keep it up.' Whoever ends up coming in the draft, who knows? I don't get too worried about that. The more good players you have, the better team we're going to have."

See anything there that tells you Blount should rest easy? Didn't think so.
