Lumpkin, who played for two years at Alabama A&M before transferring to Carson-Newman, was one of eight players eligible for the NFL Supplemental Draft Thursday.

Former Baylor wide receiver Josh Gordon, selected in the second round by the Cleveland Browns, was the only player taken in the supplemental draft.

In 2011, the linebacker recorded 94 tackles and earned All-South Atlantic Conference first-team honors.

Lumpkin collected 82 tackles, four sacks, forced two fumbles and recovered one while at Alabama A&M.
