Kevin Kolb 'here to win a Super Bowl' for Buffalo Bills

Kevin Kolb hasn't been promised a starting job with the Buffalo Bills. That didn't stop him from laying out some lofty aspirations in his introductory news conference Monday.

Brooks: 2011 NFL Draft Do-Over

Bucky Brooks reshuffles the 2011 NFL Draft, and one emerging star jumps from his second-round draft slot into the top three. **More ...**

"I'm here to win a Super Bowl," Kolb said. "Period."

Earlier Monday, Bills general manager Buddy Nix called Kolb a "strong candidate" in a starting quarterback competition that will include Tarvaris Jackson, Aaron Corp and quite possibly a high-profile rookie out of this year's draft class.

"This is a big chance for me," Kolb said. "That's why I came here and I'm excited about getting out there and doing some special things."

Kolb sounded confident that he'll come out of training camp atop the depth chart. He said he's picked up "75 to 80 percent" of the Bills' offense from working in similar systems, while adding that the Bills' "ever-evolving" offense was a draw for him.

Nix has said his goal is to have a franchise quarterback in place before he's done as general manager. Kolb has to like his chances of beating out Jackson and Corp, but he could find himself behind a rookie hotshot when the dust clears.
