Kenny Britt ready to contribute for Titans vs. Steelers

The Tennessee Titans are looking to build rhythm on offense, a challenge for a team short on playmakers.

Kenny Britt's steadily improving health is a boost. The veteran receiver practiced Wednesday and he's expected to play in Thursday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team announced.

Brooks: Thursday night primer

Bucky Brooks provides four key questions heading into Thursday night's bout between Pittsburgh and Tennessee. **More ...**

Britt is upbeat about the nagging ankle injury that knocked him out of Week 4 and kept him at bay in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

"Today I felt the most confident I have in this whole year and this whole season to tell you the truth," Britt told the Tennessean on Tuesday. "With my eyes, finding the ball when Matt (Hasselbeck) was throwing it, especially coming over the big linemen. So I'm definitely getting back to where I was last year."

Britt played just 27 snaps against the Vikings, pulling in two catches for 23 yards. He has only nine receptions for 83 yards on the season, symbolic of a passing attack that ranks 16th, but has looked worse since losing quarterback Jake Locker to a dislocated left shoulder. Hasselbeck averaged a ghastly 4.7 yards per attempt against Minnesota, and didn't complete a pass beyond 16 yards.

Rookie wideout Kendall Wright has made strides, but Chris Johnson's hot/cold act remains a mega-headache for this team. The Titans need Britt to return to form, and Thursday night wouldn't be too soon.
