It's now Joe Vitt's turn to file an affidavit in support of Jonathan Vilma's request for a temporary restraining order against the NFL.
In the motion -- obtained by NFL Network and NFL.com reporter Albert Breer -- the New Orleans Saints interim head coach paints the picture of a team in desperate need of its defensive leader during training camp.

"The suspension, and our inability to work with Mr. Vilma, in my opinion jeopardizes the entire Saints football team and our 2012-13 season," Vitt wrote.
Vitt vigorously defends Vilma's character and refutes allegations "made by Mr. Goodell regarding the so-called but non-existent Bounty Program." Vitt himself is in line for a "bounty"-related six-game suspension.
"I have never coached a player who has been more dedicated, focused and proud of playing cleanly and fairly," Vitt wrote. "His playing style reflects his life outside of football."
Vitt goes on to explain that Vilma's presence at training camp is more vital than ever as Steve Spagnuolo takes over at defensive coordinator for the banished Gregg Williams. He closes by supporting the affidavit filed by Scottie Patton, the Saints' head trainer who contends Vilma's recovery from knee surgery may be compromised by not being at team facilities.
We'd say this is the last affidavit we'll learn of for now, but there's too many hours left in the day for that.
