Jim Kelly returns to Buffalo for cancer treatment

Jim Kelly has returned to Buffalo.

The Hall of Fame quarterback flew from New York where he was receiving treatment for a recurrence of sinus cancer.

Jim's brother, Dan, told The Buffalo News that the former quarterback wanted to return to Buffalo to receive the rest of his treatments.

"He's had a rough few days, but he decided to come home anyway because this is an emotional battle, too," Dan Kelly said of his brother.

After hearing of Jim Kelly's flight to Buffalo, Bills fans showed up at the local airfield to show their support for the famed quarterback.

Unfortunately for those fans, the 54-year-old arrived out of sight of cameras and on-lookers.

Kelly's wife, Jill, later posted a video to her Instagram account with a message from her husband.

"Hey, everybody, I'm glad to be home back in Buffalo," he said, donning a Bills hat. "Sorry I missed some of you guys out at the airport, but now I'm here with my family. Thank you and God bless you, and I will be back."

The Associated Press reported Saturday that Kelly has interest in being a part of the bidding during the impending sale of the Bills' franchise. Kelly wants to make sure the team remains in Buffalo.

Everyone at NFL Media wishes the Kelly family the best during Jim's battle with cancer.
