Jerry Jones: Win Sunday might be Romo's best ever

Tony Romo gets the lion's share of the blame when the Dallas Cowboys stumble, so we should give him credit for helping guide America's Team to a surprising 6-1 start.

While DeMarco Murray has shouldered the load, galloping to a whopping 913 yards through the first seven weeks, Romo has been the steady hand making plays when called upon.

In Sunday's 31-21 win over the New York Giants, Romo went 17-for-23 passing for 279 yards, threetouchdowns and one interception (on a play during which Dez Bryant tripped). His 360-spin, gunning touchdown to Terrance Williams was vintage Romo. It marked the fifth straight multiple-touchdown game of the season for Romo.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones took the adoration to the next level.

"I'd have to say that may be (the) best game I've ever seen Tony Romo play," Jones said, per ESPN.com. "That was an outstanding game. He was pinpointing the ball, making the kind of plays and protecting the ball."

Considering the stats and performances that Romo has put up during his 12-year career (remember the 506-yard, five-touchdown performance against Denver just last year?), that is some high praise from a man who has watched every one of the quarterback's games.

If it was Romo's best game, he didn't do it without out some aid to play through injuries. The quarterback said after the game he took a shot of Toradol to help with his hurt ankle and ribs. (He said his back is fine.)

"I felt good. I was banged up, but everyone is banged up at this point of the season," Romo said, per The Dallas Morning News. "You just work through it and manage it and you go out and play."

Play the Cowboys to a 6-1 record is just what he did.
