Jeremy Maclin next Philadelphia Eagles' contract?

The Philadelphia Eagles have a ton of cap space. Amazingly, they don't have that many ways to spend it.

Reuben Frank of Comcast SportsNet takes a great look at how well situated the team is over the next three years. Almost all of their core pieces are signed through at least 2014.

Breer: Prison tag?

Since first coming into practice 20 years ago, the franchise tag certainly has evolved. Albert Breer investigates. **More ...**

That's a lot of talent signed a long way into the future. The Eagles have over $15 million in cap space, which is the fifth most in the NFL. So how might they spend it?

Frank suggests Jeremy Maclin, who will hit free agency in 2014, and we couldn't agree more. He fits Philadelphia's system perfectly. The Eagles have the money to spend. The only other talented young player without a long-term deal on the team is cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and it remains uncertain if he will live up to his potential.

The Eagles have done a good job re-signing the right players this offseason. Don't be surprised if Maclin is next.

Maybe Vick's dynasty talk wasn't so crazy. (Okay, it was crazy.)
