Jeff Tedford will join Lovie Smith in Tampa as the team's offensive coordinator.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the sides finalized a two-year contract Friday, according to a source informed of the deal.
Smith, announced Thursday as the Bucs' coach, targeted Tedford for his offensive coordinator early in the process, Rapoport reported.
The biggest criticism of Smith during his nine-year stint with the Chicago Bears was his handling of the offensive side of the ball.
Tedford is Smith's answer to those questions.
Rapoport also reported that the Bucs are expected to announce the hiring of Leslie Frazier as their defensive coordinator.
