Injury roundup: Carlos Rogers to miss 49ers' game?

The squad some are calling the hottest team in the NFC is bracing to face the Packers minus its starting cornerback.

The 49ersdon't expect to have Carlos Rogers on the field for Sunday's wild-card showdown with Green Bay, according to Jason Cole of the National Football Post.

Rogers underwent MRI testing Monday on the hamstring he injured in a Week 17 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He leads all 49ers defenders with 1,068 snaps from scrimmage this season, but if he can't dress, expect to see more from corners Tramaine Brock and Eric Wright. San Francisco also signed Perrish Cox on Monday for added support.

Here's the rest of Tuesday's injury roundup:

  1. Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe (concussion) returned to practice Tuesday, but has yet to be cleared to play in Saturday's wild-card game against the Colts, per's Adam Teicher. Bowe hasn't played since the team's Week 16 loss to Indianapolis.
  1. Kansas City also placed linebacker James-Michael Johnson on injured reserve with the ankle injury he suffered against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. Linebacker Robert James was added to the active roster to take his place.
