Injury roundup: C.J. Spiller will push to play Thursday

C.J. Spiller already has discarded the thought that he'll be at full health for the Buffalo Bills' Week 5 matchup against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night.

Instead, Spiller's focus is to be healthy enough to play after spraining his ankle during Sunday's win over the Baltimore Ravens. Spiller's goal is to get the ankle back to 80 to 85 percent, so he can suit up against the Browns.

"I think that'll be enough for me to play," he told NFL Media's Albert Breer on Monday.

Spiller told Breer his "frustration level's a 10." He could be referring to the ankle, or a difficult start to a season in which he's managed just 3.5 yards per carry without a touchdown.

That's not what Spiller, or the Bills, expected after a breakout 2012 campaign.

Here are the other injury issues we'll be tracking throughout the week:

  1. New England Patriots nose tackle Vince Wilfork tore his Achilles tendon and will miss the remainder of the season, a source told Breer. Wilfork was injured early in the Patriots' Sunday night win over the Atlanta Falcons.
  1. Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker will miss a month, and likely more, after sustaining a right hip injury during Sunday's win over the New York Jets. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Locker is a candidate for Tennessee's injured reserve-designated to return tag.
  1. Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden was forced out of Sunday's action after suffering a hamstring strain in the first quarter against the Washington Redskins. Rapoport reported Monday that McFadden avoided a serious injury, though his Week 5 status is unclear.
  1. Bills running back Fred Jackson -- who suffered a sprained MCL on Sunday -- said he should be ready to play Thursday against the Browns, barring any setbacks. Jackson might wear a brace to protect the knee.
  1. Jets wide receiver Stephen Hillsuffered a concussion on the second play of Sunday's loss to the Titans. Hill now must pass the league's concussion protocol to be cleared for "Monday Night Football" next week.
  1. Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt expects to be a "full go" in practice Tuesday. Britt was deactivated for Sunday's win over the Jets with neck and rib injuries.
  1. Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak told reporters that linebacker Brian Cushing is feeling better after he suffered a concussion during Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Cushing now enters the league-mandated concussion protocol.

8.Texans left tackle Duane Brown, who was inactive Sunday, still is day to day with a toe injury, Kubiak said.

9.Indianapolis Colts linebacker Bjoern Werner is expected to miss four to six weeks due to a torn plantar fascia in his right foot. Werner, the team's first-round draft pick, suffered the injury during Sunday's win over the Jaguars.

  1. Miami Dolphins pass rusher Cameron Wake is inactive for Monday night's game against the New Orleans Saints.
  1. Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett will practice this week, according to coach Pete Carroll. Bennett was carted off the field during Sunday's win over the Texans and later diagnosed with a strained muscle in his back.
