Injury roundup: A.J. Green misses Bengals practice

A.J. Green piled up a career-high 224 yards when the Cincinnati Bengals faced the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in the month. This time around, he's hoping his bruised biceps is well enough to play for the AFC North title on Sunday night.

Coach Marvin Lewis pronounced Green as "day to day" after the No. 1 receiver missed Wednesday's practice.

Lewis added that Green is "progressing" and has a chance to play versus the Steelers.

NFL Media's Albert Breer has reported the Bengals are optimistic that Green will suit up.

Other injuries we are tracking on Christmas Eve:

  1. Aaron Rodgers was limited by a calf injury in Wednesday's practice. He's fully expected to play in Sunday's first-place battle with the Detroit Lions.
  1. T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) practiced for a second straight day. The wide receiver was limited during Wednesday's work out. Coach Chuck Pagano is hopeful that Hilton will play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, but tight end Dwayne Allen (knee) will likely sit out. Pagano has vowed to play all of his healthy starters in the regular-season finale.
  1. Ryan Mathews (ankle) and Keenan Allen (collarbone) sat out Chargers practice for the second consecutive day as San Diego readies for Sunday's game against the Chiefs for a trip to the playoffs.
  1. Steven Jackson missed practice for the Falcons as he continues to battle a quad injury that sidelined him during Atlanta's Week 16 win in New Orleans. Julio Jones (hip) and Roddy White (ankle) also did not practice, but are expected to play Week 17 against Carolina.
  1. Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe (shoulder) and linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) did not practice. Running back Jamaal Charles was limited during Wednesday's practice.
  1. Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (hip) and safety T.J. Ward were limited. Linebacker Brandon Marshall missed practice due to a foot injury. Here's the full injury list for the Broncos.
  1. Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Doug Free is nursing an ankle injury and did not practice Wednesday. Quarterback Tony Romo (back) also missed practice but he is expected to play against the Redskins on Sunday.

8.Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was limited with a shoulder injury. Offensive tackle Trent Williams (shoulder) did not work out on Wednesday. Here's the injury report for Washington and Dallas.
