Injuries: Henry Anderson believed to have torn ACL

The Indianapolis Colts haven't had many bright spots this season. One such standout is now lost for the season.

The Colts placed 2015 third-round defensive end Henry Anderson on injured reserve Monday morning. He is believed to have torn his ACL, based on initial tests, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, per a source who has spoken to the rookie. Anderson suffered the injury in the Colts' 27-24 win over the Denver Broncos.

Anderson has been one of the top newcomers through the midway point of the season, ranking No. 7 on Chris Wesseling's midseason Rookie Watch. Along with fifth-round defensive tackle David Parry, the two have helped the Colts' interior defensive line progress nicely from week to week.

Here's the rest of the injury news we are tracking on Monday:

  1. The Patriots will be without running back Dion Lewis for the rest of the season. He suffered a torn ACL and was placed on injured reserve Monday afternoon.
  1. Giants defensive lineman Johnathan Hankins tore his pectoral and will need surgery, coach Tom Coughlin said. He will miss the remainder of the season.
  1. Broncos pass rusher DeMarcus Wareaggravated the back injury that caused him to miss an earlier game this season. He is expected to miss two to four weeks, Rapoport reported, per a source informed of the injury.
  1. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will miss a few weeks with a mid-foot sprain, according to NFL Media's Albert Breer. The Steelers face the Browns next before a Week 11 bye, so it is possible Big Ben misses only one winnable game.

Pittsburgh's schedule gets extremely tough the rest of the year with matchups on the road in Seattle and Cincinnati and at home against the Colts and Broncos still to come. They'll need Roethlisberger, considering the team is without star running back Le'Veon Bell for the rest of the season.

  1. Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd did not return to Monday night's game after suffering a shoulder injury.

Chargers cornerbacks Jason Verrett (groin) and Patrick Robinson (neck) left early and also did not return.

  1. Vikings signal-caller Teddy Bridgewater suffered a concussion after a hit from Rams safety Lamarcus Joyner and didn't return to the game. Coach Mike Zimmer said the second-year signal-caller passed the first test and should be good to go for Sunday.
  1. Jaguars wideout Allen Hurns was wearing a protective boot on his left foot, according to ESPN. He apparently suffered a sprain on the Jaguars' final interception.
  1. The Ravens have removed defensive end Brent Urban from IR boomerang and he will practice with the team. Urban suffered a torn biceps during training camp.
  1. Falcons defensive tackle Tyson Jackson suffered a rib contusion and not a fracture against the 49ers, according to Rapoport.
  1. Panthers star linebacker Luke Kuechly has a stiff and sore ankle, but it shouldn't keep him out against the Titans, according to coach Ron Rivera. He could miss Wednesday's practice. Pass-rusher Charles Johnson is eligible to start practicing on Wednesday and can return to game action against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. He was placed on IR Boomerang with a hamstring injury.
  1. An MRI revealed that Eagles linebacker Jordan Hicks has a torn pectoral and was placed on season-ending injured reserve. To replace Hicks, Philadelphia re-signed linebacker Emmanuel Acho
  1. Redskins safety Dashon Goldson is day-to-day with a hamstring injury, coach Jay Gruden said.
  1. Jets kicker Nick Folk is out four to six weeks with a quad injury, Todd Bowles said at his Monday afternoon press conference.

Bowles also said quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick could have surgery on his left thumb on Friday after the Bills game and might not playing time.

On defensive back Antonio Cromartie, who's battling a deep quad bruise, Bowles said he's "50-50" for Thursday's game against the Bills. Defensive back Dion Bailey has a high ankle sprain, Bowles also announced. The head coach also said defensive back Calvin Pryor is "a ways away" with a high ankle sprain as well.

  1. The Lions placed defensive tackle Andre Fluellen on IR on Monday afternoon, the team announced.
  1. Ravens rookie wide receiver Breshad Perriman is not ready to practice this week, John Harbaugh announced. The Ravens coach said he'd "love to get four games out of" Perriman this season.
  1. Packers cornerback Casey Hayward remained in concussion protocol Monday, according to coach Mike McCarthy.
  1. Saints quarterback Luke McCown will undergo season-ending surgery to fix a lower back injury.
