Herb Taylor of Jaguars to play for first time since 2007

Jacksonville Jaguars offensive lineman Herb Taylor is active after signing with the team Monday. He was cut from the Green Bay Packers on Aug. 24.

Taylor has spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, New York Giants and the Packers before landing with the Jaguars, but hasn't played in a game since 2007.

"Just taking everything in, trying to not only learn what's on the board, but taking it to the field and moving," Taylor told The Florida Times-Union. "I'm here early, with the coaches late and my playbook doesn't close until I go to sleep at the hotel.

"Wherever they need me. I'm just hunkering down."

That's a long time in between games for anyone, let alone a journeyman. Add that to the fact he's still learning the playbook, and it will be interesting to watch Taylor in his start Sunday against the Houston Texans.
