Greg Schiano likely to finish year as Buccaneers coach

Greg Schiano of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers recently led Around The League's list of coaches on the hot seat as the NFL gears up for the stretch run.

Sources tell NFL Media columnist Michael Silver, however, that the Glazer family is inclined to keep Schiano for the remainder of the season -- barring a catastrophic turn of events.

Last week's surprisingly strong showing in Seattle might have granted Schiano some leeway, but the Glazers will revisit the situation if the team begins suffering lopsided, embarrassing defeats while the locker room devolves into a den of dissent.

Monday night's game versus a Miami Dolphins organization in disarray will set the tone for the rest of the season.

If Schiano can pick up his first victory of the season, he has another winnable home game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11. If the losing skid continues, though, the pressure will mount with daunting road contests at Detroit and Carolina looming.

Schiano is safe for now, but this is a fluid situation. The Bucs' locker-room temperature is as fickle as any in the league.
