NFL Media's Kimberly Jones reported Wednesday that the running back will miss practice for the remainder of the week and sit out Sunday's Hall of Fame Game against the Buffalo Bills after suffering a neck burner in Tuesday's session, per the team. A burner is a nerve injury resulting from trauma to the neck and shoulder.
Wilson underwent a battery of tests Tuesday night at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. The third-year runner is scheduled for further examination on Monday by Dr. Frank Cammisa, who performed Wilson's fusion surgery on a disk in January.
"We were all praying that it wouldn't be an issue," coach Tom Coughlin said Tuesday after Wilson left practice.
