Ex-Falcon Anderson reacts to 'Dirty Bird' by Giants WR Nicks

Jamal Anderson is long gone from the NFL, but his signature touchdown celebration is not.

"The Dirty Bird," which involves arm flapping and a healthy dollop of body gyration, was exhumed by Hakeem Nicks on Sunday after the Giants receiver scored a touchdown during a 24-2 victory over the Falcons at MetLife Stadium.

Anderson, a former Falcons All-Pro running back with a rooting interest in the team, immediately took to Twitter after Nicks' homage, which the receiver said was teammate Antrel Rolle's idea.

"NO HE DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!," Anderson tweeted, using 23 exclamation points to properly contextualize his fury.

Anderson -- typing under the handle @jamthedirtybird (naturally) -- later made it clear he didn't have an issue with Nicks' dance, even if it was Dirty-Bird-on-Falcon violence.

"Btw, I'm not mad at Nicks," wrote Anderson, who retired in 2001 and now does some analyst work. "I Broke out the Dirty Bird in 98, its trending on Twitter in 2012."

If only Anderson's former team possessed the same fight for relevance.
