Marcus Pollard is competing on television sets again, but his days of hauling in Peyton Manning passes and dunking the ball over the crossbar are over.
Instead, you can watch Pollard on the new season of "The Amazing Race" on CBS.
"I never even thought I'd do something like this," he told The Associated Press on Thursday. "It was different, a totally different experience than playing pro football."
Well, we'd imagine so.
Pollard competed with his wife, Amani, traveling around the globe in a series of challenges. The new season was taped during the summer and will premiere on Sunday.
"I learned that my wife is really strong, not just physically but mentally," said Pollard, a 14-year NFL veteran who retired after the 2008 season. "She's really stronger physically and mentally than I thought she would be."
Backhanded compliments of your spouse aside, Pollard's goal was to claim a cash prize of $1 million. He wouldn't give any details away as to how he and Amani did.
