Dockett urging smart -- but feisty -- play from Cardinals

A mixed message of sorts from our friend Darnell Docket.

The Cardinals 290-pound defensive tackle -- rightfully fed up with the team's outrageous 10 penalties in Sunday's 22-21 loss to the Redskins -- is urging his teammates to retaliate to flack dished out by the opponent ... but in a way that goes unnoticed.

Docket's wise counsel, via The Arizona Republic, unfolds like this: "We just have to be smart. I always emphasize to my team, 'Don't never be a punk. If somebody do something to you, you do something back.' If you just continue to let them do it, then you're going to have a long day.

"We're not going to let nobody just push us in the helmet, push in the back, step on our hands and do crazy stuff," Dockett said. "You have to respond sometimes -- but also you got to be smart about it."

No telling where these gems, from a man known inside team circles as "Fart Box," will lead this Cardinals team.
