Darrelle Revis reportedly put on market after injury

The Saturday report that the New York Jets dangled Darrelle Revis in trade talks prior to his anterior cruciate ligament injury might not be quite accurate.

Both Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com and Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reported Sunday that Revis was never part of actual trade discussions prior to the Sept. 23 knee injury that ended his season.

According to Cimini, former general manager Mike Tannenbaum spoke to some "confidantes" across the NFL landscape, getting their viewpoint on how to ultimately settle the Revis situation. Tannenbaum reached out for guidance, but never engaged in any talks about moving the dynamic cornerback.

Tannenbaum is out the door, and new general manager John Idzik inherits the unenviable task of re-signing Revis, trading him ... or perhaps someone else.
