Chip Kelly to Peyton: 'We'll go play in a parking lot'

On Monday night, Peyton Manning, fresh off another Player of the Week performance, already was thinking about this week's tussle with Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Manning suggested the matchup with the Eagles would be tougher for the Denver Broncos, thanks to the NFL schedule-makers.

"We're coming off of a short week -- it's nice of the NFL to give Philly 12 days and give us six," Manning said, per CSN Philadelphia. "So we've got to handle that. We've still got some guys injured. So we've got to get some new guys playing."

Asked Tuesday about Manning's comments, Kelly initially brushed them off. Then, with a smirk, he gave the schoolyard response.

"When do we go play?" Kelly asked rhetorically. "We got to play in a parking lot? We'll go play in a parking lot. We don't care."

Kelly surely would match his offense up against anyone without blinking. We suggest thinking twice about that defense, however.

Kelly isn't going to apologize for the Eagles having 12 days off after losing at home to the Kansas City Chiefs on "Thursday Night Football."

"We played three games in 11 days," Kelly said. "I don't care. We only worry about what we can control, and we don't control the schedule."

True, but will six extra days off be enough for his defense to figure out how to control Manning?
